Need a Motivational Fitness Boost? Here’s How Workout Clothes Can Help You Find Your Fitspo

Just getting to start exercising at home can be a workout in and of itself. Everything from your family’s busy schedule to how well you slept last night can threaten to derail you. One surprising thing that may help you stay the course: the clothes you wear. According to a new survey of 2,000 regular gymgoers, 9 out of 10 people feel motivated to break a sweat by simply putting on their workout gear. For 79 percent, owning “good” gym clothes is a crucial step toward meeting their fitness goals.

Turns out that 69 percent of people claim that having nice workout clothing that they enjoy putting on helps push them to exercise. This intel is based on a survey of over 2,000 gym goers who said they felt more motivated to move when they liked what they were wearing. It’s something Denise Lee, founder and CEO of the buzzy activewear line Alala, says she’s found to be true, too.

 

“Owning activewear you love can promote a healthier, more active lifestyle”, says Lee. “When you feel good, your mindset shifts to a place where self-care becomes more important to you. You should always feel 100 percent comfortable and supported in your workouts.” Here, here.
